Basic Human Rights are violated every now and then in our society. Such violations are rarely reported and followed up. Abductions, arbitrary arrests, detentions without trial, political executions, assassinations, and torture often follow. In cases where extreme violations of human rights have occurred, reconciliation and peace-building becomes much more difficult.
We envision a province in which human rights are respected and every person is able to live the fullest of his life. And if the person observes any violation of Human Rights he will be able to Report it to the concerned Authorities. From 2013 to 2017, a total of 4,607 human rights violations were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa out of which 7,546 suspects were booked and 6,427 were arrested.
To counter this ratio, we decided to discuss the matter with KPIT Board and ended up launching a Complaint System which is an Android App for the Department of Human Rights. Over here citizens can register their Complaint about any Violation of human rights happening around the Province to Human rights Department and the Department will resolve that complaint and will notify the user about that.
Fellows from Government Innovation Fellowship program were selected to put their efforts on this project for Directorate of Human Rights Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which falls under the umbrella of Law, parliamentary affairs and human rights department.
Our mission is to promote, protect and enforce Human Rights in the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as guaranteed by the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and various international conventions, treaties, covenants and agreements to which Pakistan is a state party or shall become a state party.
