Civic Innovation Labs
Islamabad CIL

Islamabad Civic Innovation Lab is a dedicated volunteer-run program of Code for Pakistan in partnership with OPEN Islamabad that designs real solutions with, and for, communities in and around Islamabad. It is part design lab, part community caucus, and part accelerator of civic startups.

Peshawar CIL

PCIL provides a platform to help engage volunteers & enthusiasts to develop urban solutions through the use of Open Data, local government support and facilitated design process. In collaboration with P2.0, this lab creates a multi-stakeholder process designed to prototype and test viable solutions for civic and social challenges faced by the residents of Peshawar.

  Karachi CIL

A community of contributors from the public sector, non-profit and software development communities. KCIL comes together to work on projects that improve social services delivery through digital platforms. This lab is also interested in creating interest in the open source community and increasing women’s participation in technology.

HACKATHONS

Civic Hackathons are events that spark civic engagement, bring together
software designers, developers, and community organizers to solve their communities’ needs,
and show what’s possible using technology.

Through the creation of open source technology to address civic needs, we aim to transform civic life by increasing civic engagement, encouraging the opening of government data, and supporting innovation in the public domain.

Our Labs meet regularly to collaborate with local stakeholders (including Government, partner Non-profit Organizations, and Media Organizations) on projects that focus on how to use 21st century web and data tools to improve civic interfaces.
