KP Government Innovation Fellowship Program

The KP Government Innovation Fellowship Program is a six-month program run by Code for Pakistan, in partnership with KP IT Board and the World Bank. During the course of the Fellowship, teams of young developers and designers collaborate with local government departments to build software and applications, inspire citizen engagement, improve existing government systems  and guide the government on how to innovate in public services. These solutions are designed to improve citizen-facing services in a variety of public domains, such as healthcare, crime, disaster management, citizen engagement, transportation, traffic, education, etc.

Civic Innovation Labs

Islamabad CIL

Islamabad Civic Innovation Lab (ICIL) is a dedicated volunteer-run program by Code for Pakistan in partnership with OPEN Islamabad that designs real solutions with, and for, communities in and around Islamabad. Islamabad Civic Innovation Lab is a combination of the major civic innovation essentials; it is part design lab, part community caucus, and part accelerator of civic startups.

Peshawar CIL

Peshawar Civic Innovation Lab (PCIL) provides a platform to help engage volunteers and enthusiasts to develop urban solutions through the use of Open Data, local government support and facilitation of the  design process. In collaboration with Peshawar 2.0, PCIL creates a multi-stakeholder process designed to prototype and test viable solutions for civic and social challenges faced by the residents of Peshawar.

CIL Chaklala

A platform for enabling civic minded volunteers to contribute with their own unique skill set towards solving issues faced by the citizens of Rawalpindi. CILC collaborates with Local Governments, Non-Government Organizations, and startups to develop solutions which cater the civic needs of the public.

HACKATHON

Civic Hackathons are events that spark civic engagement, bringing together software designers, developers, and community organizers to solve their communities’ needs, and show what’s possible using technology.

Through the creation of open source technology to address civic needs, we aim to transform civic life by increasing civic engagement, encouraging the opening of government data, and supporting innovation in the public domain.

Our Labs meet regularly to collaborate with local stakeholders (including Government, partner Non-profit Organizations, and Media Organizations) on projects that focus on how to use 21st century web and data tools to improve civic interfaces.
